Your family story is priceless. Welcoming a newborn baby to your family is a momentous time you’ll want to remember. You’d describe my style of newborn photography as very natural, easy going and baby led. I like to schedule newborn shoots around 11.30am in the morning as the sun is quite high in the sky which produces beautiful window light as this is most flattering with skin tones. Babies also seem to be calmer in the morning.
I photograph your baby either awake or asleep. If they need to be fed, burped or just cuddled there’s no hurry. There’s a few tricks for helping a newborn to settle - white noise, warm room, full tummy and rhythmic movement. No strange poses for you or your baby. Most of the time it’s a family member holding the baby revealing the connection and love that you have for this new member of the family.
