When I arrive at your home I bring with me a selection of wraps for you to choose from as well as a beanbag, not to ‘pose’ your baby on but to have a flat, soft surface for your baby to lie on. ‘Baby Led’ posing is just that, letting your baby move naturally, capturing the little movements that are unique to them.
Photographers that specialize in posed newborn photography require to photograph your baby within the first 2 weeks of life due to your baby being very sleepy, they can then mould them into various ‘posed’ positions after they get them to sleep. I prefer ‘Lifestyle’ baby-led photography, a more gentle form of posing, not trying to force your baby into poses that they would not naturally do.
I try to shoot a selection of awake and asleep shots on their own but more so they will be with Mum or Dad cuddling them, showing the love they have for their newborn baby.
This beautiful new family have just welcomed a little baby girl and was photographed at 7 weeks old. I felt like we’d been friends for years. Congratulations she’s beautiful!
