How to Photograph Toddlers!
The joy I feel when I return to past client's homes and see how much their first born baby has grown and also that they've welcomed another newborn baby girl to the family.
Welcome beautiful baby girl!
I usually only conduct Tween Mini Shoots at the beautiful Mont Du Soleil but I received a call from a Mum of a toddler who fell in love with the location and asked if I could photograph her 2 year old daughter there.
She had so much fun playing with the huge balloons, feeding the pony and horse, swinging her doll on the swing and playing in the fields of flowers.
"The colours of Spring emerge with sweet sounds of songbirds to fill our Winter weary souls; bring hope, new beginnings and inspiration."
There are so many photos from this family & newborn photo shoot that I want to share, so I thought I'd start with their gorgeous toddler! Have a look at those blond curls and the most cheeky smile. More newborn and family photos to come in next week's blog post!
When Karen rang me to book a photo session she asked if she could also bring their family dog Wilson. I love including animals in family photo shoots as they are a huge part of the family as well. Oh my gosh how cute are these children and Wilson the Beagle was such a trouper posing with the family. Hope you enjoy your preview!
It's Summer here in Melbourne and with that the Jacaranda trees bloom with their gorgeous purple petals. I come up with ideas that I would love to photograph, especially during the holidays. The search for a Jacaranda tree with low branches began! Driving around I spotted the most beautiful tree in the front yard of a house that just happened to have the owner out front for me to ask him if I could possibly photograph his tree. He began to tell me the local history and also found out he knew of my father, talk about a small world!
A couple of days later (after the rain had bucketed down), I was a little concerned that the petals would have been washed away but it was still standing strong. Here's a preview of adorable Audrey, the toddler with the cutest ponytails!
Isn't she the cutest???? Her Mum's best friend purchased a Watch Them Grow Photography Gift Voucher for this little toddler's 2nd birthday. Here's a little preview:
My first blog post for 2017, Happy New Year! I had the pleasure of photographing a nearly one year old toddler, meet Seoirsa (pronounced: Seersha). Isn't she the most gorgeous, little one and oh that smile could make anyone melt!
Her Mum and Dad didn't organise newborn photos and decided as a Christmas present to themselves, they'd have a professional photo shoot of Seoirsa about to turn 1. I so love photographing this age, the expressions, the personalities, the cutest!!
This little one was an absolute delight! Her Mum booked a newborn photo session and I couldn't help but feature this little munchkin in her own blog post, I mean look at those curls and blue eyes! She was all smiles and so much fun, rolling around on the bed, playing with her jewellery box, cuddling her favourite teddy and watching her favourite show on TV. I love photographing toddlers!! Don't ever expect a toddler to sit still and smile.......let them have fun and play!
Watch Them Grow Photography has grown in leaps and bounds this year, welcoming so many new clients and catching up with older clients. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for allowing me into your homes and to capture your precious memories for you.
Much love to all and I hope you have the most wonderful holidays and New Year! xxx
P.S. A little pressie for my clients.......
When Ebony phoned and booked a photography session for her new baby, she was a little worried that we might not be able to get some good shots of her 20 month old boy Hudson as he can't sit still. I love photographing toddlers, get them playing and having fun that's when the natural smiles happen. How cute is he?
Oh that red baseball cap
I snuck it
It fitted right on my head
Something about a red baseball cap
But Dad said I had to give it back!!!!
There's just so much to do in a day of the life of a toddler! Little Oliver couldn't wait to show me his room and his toys (and sorry Mum for me asking him to jump on his bed)!! The cutest!!
