It’s Warming Up!
To make a technically good photo we're taught to always aim for strong focus in every shot but the creative side in me loves out of focus as it can evoke a feeling in it's own way.
Focus, composition, and light are very important aspects to consider when taking a photo but sometimes you can break the rules. One of those rules is called 'Freelensing'.
Freelensing involves removing your lens from the camera and tilting it slightly which gives photos a very blurred, soft look. To me Freelensing produces an almost dream like feel to the photos, a softness to the image giving it an impressionistic feel. Photos can either have a select focus point or all out of focus. It almost gives the photo a vintage feel, a little bit of mystery whereby the viewer can interpret their own story from the image.
If you like this look let me know and I'll make sure to take a few images Freelensed during your photo session.
When Karen rang me to book a photo session she asked if she could also bring their family dog Wilson. I love including animals in family photo shoots as they are a huge part of the family as well. Oh my gosh how cute are these children and Wilson the Beagle was such a trouper posing with the family. Hope you enjoy your preview!
As a photographer I'm always on the lookout for different locations for client photo shoots. You can take some of the most beautiful photos in a very small area and spots that you would normally just drive past.
When I was dropping off my son's friend at his home, I noticed across the road a magnificent tree with stunning red petals (not sure the name of the tree)! Anyway, I couldn't help myself and organised an impromptu photo shoot with the gorgeous Ava & Jaz.
Boys and their obsessions...in this case it's soccer, dirty feet, bruised knees and all!
My friend's daughter Charlotte decided all on her own to donate her hair for people suffering with Cancer in the World's Greatest Shave! In her own words "I am only 7 years old and in Grade 2. I know how sick people can get when they have a yucky thing called cancer. I hope I can help them and they can use my hair to make a wig." To think someone so young would be so selfless to think of others. Charlotte and I shared a gorgeous photo shoot before her big haircut.
